  What is the Purpose of Echocardiography? Echocardiogram is used to diagnose range of heart problems such as fluid accumulation around heart, blockage in heart, and poor functioning of heart valves. What is echocardiography? Echocardiography uses ultrasound waves to generate images of our heart, also known as echocardiogram. This imaging technique is non-invasive hence doesn’t involve pain or discomfort and does not cause any harmful effects to our body as patient doesn’t exposed to any kind of harmful radiation. Echo test shows pumping of blood, and beating of your heart, in some cases your doctor may suggest more than one echocardiography test.
